Name: Jackson Gold

History:
“The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of the infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far.”
-H.P. Lovecraft
Many things in this world were not meant for the mortal mind. The infinite cosmos, which roils and writhes above the heads of Man, holds secrets immeasurable in their magnitude and unknowable in their contents. Touches of these secrets, these majestic brushes with the beings that inhabit our most deep and festering fears can make a man go mad with sweet revelations. And so it was with Jackson Alister Gold, the fourth of his name, may the old gods have mercy on his soul.
Many beings inhabit the cosmos, those who were not imprisoned within the earth, many who were not chained beneath the roiling waves of the Earth’s oceans, and their influence is absolute in its corruption. There are cults to them which have never died, their members inhabiting the dark and twisted corners of the world. The artifacts of these beings are the source of their influence, and many of them wander, unknown.
Jackson was a normal kid. He studied for school every day at 3:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. He liked to read and imagine all kinds of fantasies in his head to escape from the yelling that so often came from his parents’ room. He imagined greatness among the stars. Posters of constellations and planets the human race has never set foot on adorn his walls. He was pure, kind, and young. A perfect target.
The nightmares were the beginning of it all. Wisps of terror that woke him up in the middle of the night with tears streaming down his face, and his parents hovering close by his side, concern painting the space of their eyes. Next came the headaches and the random whispers he heard in the quiet lull between the noises of everyday life. They whispered secrets to him. He told his mother and father what was going on and they shared a worried glance.
The next day the Doctor diagnosed him with schizophrenia.
And then one day he was taken. People with hoods and masks that whispered to him as they carried him with the reverence of a demigod among mere mortals. They called him “Star-Touched” and a “Child of the Cosmos”. He didn’t know what they meant until it was too late. A dark house in the slums was his last time in this, or any recognizable world. They chained him to a table and lifted the hoods from their heads. Countless eyes adorned their faces, each one looking in a seemingly random direction until they all focused on his sweaty and terrified face. One raised a knife and chanted to the roof, which before his eyes broke away into a thousand glittering pieces, revealing the Truth. Jackson screamed, his voice giving out even as the swirling masses of horror were replaced with soft rainbow-colored light, and a hand reached out and grasped his body.

The 17 year old kid stands at about 5’8” and has a thin and lanky build, indicative of his more studious lifestyle. He usually wears clothes that hang a little loose off his body, along with a small satchel bag that he throws across his shoulder for books and other things he may need for school. He wears reading glasses, for obvious reasons.

Starting Moves:
Abyssal Strike (300)
Channeling the infinite cosmos, Jackson’s eyes will appear to duplicate in the shadows in the area immediately around him, signaling the beginning of this attack rush. Reaching up and clasping his hands in a praying fashion, He begins to channel this move by pleading with the gods above for mercy. Light and energy will gather in between his clasped hands, and after a charge-up period of 3 seconds, he will throw his hands to either side of his body, and the light will blossom outwards in a halo of light that seeks its targets. If no targets are found, they will impact the area around his body in a 10 ft diameter, exploding outwards to deter any from approaching. The bursts of light travel about as fast as an arrow. It requires concentration, and cannot be used while moving in this form. This move has two alternate forms of attack, which are detailed as such:
Abyssal Strike (Variant 1): (300)
This form of the attack is the high-mobility variant of the attack, as it is dependent not upon the concentration of the user, but rather a raw wave of will is used to form this attack. Jackson's eyes will glow with a light blue haze, eyes of similar hues appearing in the shadows in his immediate area, signaling the beginning of this attack variant. This variant can be used exclusively while moving. While walking (or running) Jackson can let loose singular star-bursts of energy from his hands. They lack the explosions of the base variant, but do not require concentration to be flung. The starbursts are about as big as a tennis ball and trail light not dissimilar to comets. They move about as fast as bullets.
Dreamer’s Grasp (300)
The Dreamer’s Grasp is a debilitating move, aimed to impair the mental faculties of those who are affected. Jackson will kneel where he is, runes and lines appearing in a small circle around his body. The activation of the move takes 5 seconds, and after the effect is triggered, the move lasts for two minutes, if not manually extended with concentration. In a 20 ft radius around him, those with lower TEC will feel drowsy and their movement speed and reaction times will be slowed down. Those with equal TEC will simply feel a little sluggish, but not enough to impair their skills or movement. Those with higher TEC will not be affected at all. Those affected by the impairment will hear sounds congruent with soft bell tolls in the distance, and Jackson is only immune from the effect if he stays within the initial protective circle.
Edge of Insanity (600) ( Utility Super Move) (Homing, Area Attack, Ranged, Debuff)
This move is characterized by several vision and sensory cues. The first of which being that Jackson will collapse onto his knees, staring up at the sky/ceiling/roof etc. The second of which is that the sky/ceiling/roof will change appearance in a 20 meter radius to look like an undisclosed section of space, complete with stars, nebulas, and all. After this process is complete (~10 seconds) Jackson will let out a scream, that will trigger pulsating masses of tentacles to lash down and grab any who are caught in the affected area (up to a maximum of five. However, the more people entangled results in weaker holds. Ex. one person being restrained would be locked in an iron tight grip while 5 would have a much easier time breaking loose. Additionally, if less than 4 primes are being restrained, the grip is tight enough to cause bodily harm. If only one person is entangled within the move, their def stat is reduced by one when calculating bodily harm. This cannot be used while moving, and requires concentration to maintain.
